IPL 2026 auction list announced; 40 players to enter with base price of INR 2 crores

IPL 2026 auction will take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council on Tuesday, December 9 announced the list of players that will be going under the hammer in the auction. The IPL 2026 auction will take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi and this will mark the road for the next edition of the league.
A total of 1390 players registered for the IPL 2026 auction and out of those only 350 players were shortlisted. In a breakdown of these 350 players, 240 are Indian players, while 110 are overseas superstars.
Also, the pool includes 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players, Only 77 slots are available to be filled in the IPL 2026 auction, out of which 31 spots are reserved for overseas players.
A total of 40 players have registered themselves at a base price of INR 2 crore. Some of the big names are all set to go under the hammer and with franchises keen to fill in the gaps, we might see some of the records getting shattered in the IPL 2026 auction.
