IPL 2026: All players bought by MI in auction

The Mumbai Indians had the lowest purse of INR 2.75 crore heading into the auction.

Five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) winners Mumbai Indians (MI) entered the auction with the smallest purse of INR 2.75 crore after their massive retentions. MI welcomed South African star Quinton de Kock back into their fold.

The 33-year-old had played a key role with the bat and behind the stumps for MI in their IPL title-winning campaigns in 2019 and 2020. MI grab de Kock at his base price of INR 1 Crore. The keeper-batter has played 43 games for MI in the IPL, scoring 1329 runs.

The left-handed batter has hit ten half-centuries with an average of 34. The South African wicket-keeper batter has been in amazing form with the bat in the ongoing white-ball series against India, and this will be a big boost for MI.

The five-time champions will hope that de Kock can come good once again and help the side win their sixth title next season.

Mumbai Indians bought Vidarbha batter Danish Malewar for INR 30 Lakhs. The right-handed batter scored 153 and 73 in the Ranji finals against Kerala last year. The 22-year-old is yet to play T20 cricket for Vidarbha. Malewar has played 13 first-class matches, scoring 1151 runs with an average of 52.

The acquisition of Malewar will also be key for MI, who will be used as a backup option. The 22-year-old is a technically sound top-order batter with a penchant for scoring big runs.

Left-arm pacer Mohammad Izhar was another addition made by MI for INR 30 Lakhs. The 21-year-old caught the eye of many fans with his brilliant bowling in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025 for his Bihar side.

Izhar played five matches and picked nine wickets with a best of 4/39 against Madhya Pradesh. The young pacer is known for his swing bowling and possesses good change of pace towards the back end of the innings.

Young Mumbai spinner Atharva Ankolekar was also picked by INR 30 Lakhs by MI for the coming season. The tall left-arm spinner has been a key part of the Mumbai domestic side, especially in the white-ball format. Ankolekar played a key role in Mumbai’s title-winning Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament last season.
