IPL 2026: Full squad of Mumbai Indians after mini-auction ft. Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock

Mumbai Indians will be one of the hot favourites to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
Indian Premier League (IPL) powerhouses and five-time champions Mumbai Indians had just 2.75 Crores left ahead of the 2026 auctions. MI, picked up Quinton de Kock for mere 1 Crore to showcase their auction acumen. The 33-year-old was a key member for MI before being released ahead of the 2022 IPL mega auctions.
Ryan Rickelton was MI’s opener last season with Rohit Sharma as the 29-year-old scored 388 runs from 14 games last season. Rickelton hit three fifties and had a strike-rate of 150. Quinton de Kock’s return to MI will pose a good challenge to the team management as far as the opening slot is concerned.
It is worth noting that Ryan Rickelton’s recent form with the bat hasn’t been upto the mark. The 29-year-old scored two successive ducks in the ODI series against India and scored a mere 104 runs from four innings in the test series with an average of 26.
Mumbai Indians invest in young Indian talent
With very limited budget coming into the IPL 2026 auctions, MI spent majority of their money on Quinton de Kock. This left the five time IPL champions with enough money to pick up some domestic talents.
Danish Malewar who plays for Vidarbha was purchased for INR 30 Lakhs by the Men in Blue and Gold to shore up their squad. Bihar’s left-arm pacer Mohammad Izhar too was purchased for the same amount, thanks to his impressive maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy exploits.
25-year-old left-arm spinner Atharva Ankolekar was paid 30 Lakhs for his services ahead of the new season. Ankolekar, has been a constant presence in the Mumbai side especially in the T20 format. The youngster has been in decent form with the ball in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali (SMAT) 2025 tournament.
So far Ankolekar has played 25 T20 matches picking 19 wickets with an economy rate of 7.1 runs per over. Apart from being a very good spinner, the youngster is also very dependable with the bat with 135 runs with a strike-rate of 156 for his Mumbai side.
