IPL 2027: Hardik Pandya traded to PBKS as Arshdeep Singh joins MI in historic trade deal - Reports
Hardik Pandya set to join Punjab Kings in swap with Arshdeep Singh.
The IPL 2027 trade window keeps delivering entertainment. The IPL 2027 mini-auction will take place on December 16, 2026, while the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has set November 17 as the deadline for all franchises to submit their lists of retained and released players.
However, teams have made the most of the trade window ahead of the deadline, making several changes to strengthen their squad. One name that appeared on several teams’ wishlists during the trade window is star all-rounder Hardik Pandya; many franchises were keen to acquire him via a trade.
According to journalist Rahul Rawat, Hardik is set to join Punjab Kings in a swap deal involving Arshdeep Singh, who will move to Mumbai Indians. Both PBKS and MI have reportedly submitted the necessary paperwork to the BCCI, with both players’ consent.
Even before the trade window opened, reports of a fallout between the Mumbai Indians management and Pandya had emerged.

The 33-year-old Indian all-rounder will represent PBKS in IPL 2027. However, this won’t be the first time Hardik Pandya has been involved in a historic IPL trade.
Hardik made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2015 and represented the franchise until 2021. MI released him ahead of the IPL 2022 auction, after which the newly formed Gujarat Titans picked him. Pandya led GT to the IPL title in their inaugural season, and the franchise reached the final again in 2023.
Following that, MI reacquired Hardik in a historic all-cash trade with Gujarat Titans ahead of the 2024 season. Reportedly, Hardik himself wanted to return to MI, and the franchise handed him the captaincy, replacing legendary skipper Rohit Sharma.
However, things did not go as expected, and the team struggled to find consistency. During Hardik’s three-year stint as captain, Mumbai qualified for the playoffs only once and failed to make a significant impact.
Now, MI appear to be undergoing another major transition, with Kieron Pollard taking charge of the coaching staff. As part of this restructuring, the Indians are set to trade their current captain, Pandya, to Punjab in exchange for Arshdeep, who is expected to strengthen their bowling attack.
According to several reports, Rohit Sharma will return as the franchise’s captain for another season, with Tilak Varma as his deputy.
