Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya together play for Indian cricket team. However, they clashed with each other as opponents on Wednesday, April 23, during the match No. 40 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hosted Mumbai Indians (MI) in the encounter at their home ground Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Pandya is the skipper of MI while Shami is a crucial pacer for SRH in IPL 2025. Notably, Shami and Hardik were part of the Gujarat Titans (GT) earlier. On Wednesday, after MI won the game, Shami came with a heart-warming gesture for the Indian all-rounder that has caught the attention of Indian cricket fans. After the match, Shami took Pandya’s autograph on his ICC Champions Trophy 2025 jersey. Notably, Team India won the ICC title earlier this year after defeating New Zealand in the final in Dubai.

MI franchise shared the video of the lovely moment on the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter). The video also went viral on social media with MI and SRH fans resharing it on X. Have a moment of the video below.

Shami played a key role in India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph. The right-arm pacer grabbed nine wickets across five games and was the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament. He was also the joint highest wicket-taker for India along with teammate Varun Chakravarthy. On the other hand, Pandya picked four wickets and scored 99 runs during the ICC tournament.

Meanwhile, SRH faced a huge defeat by seven wickets in the clash against MI. The visitors halted SRH for just 143/8 in the first innings with Trent Boult’s four-wicket haul. SRH batter succumbed against MI’s bowling attack; losing top four batters for single digits.

Later, Heinrich Klaasen played a crucial knock of 71 runs. However, MI batter Rohit Sharma slammed a half-century to power his team to victory. Suryakumar Yadav also added a crucial unbeaten 40 runs. MI defeated SRH in both clashes in IPL 2025.
