Ishan Kishan and Arshdeep Singh impressed with their incredible performances in IND vs NZ 5th T20I.

The 5th T20I between the Indian Cricket Team and New Zealand Cricket Team took place on January 31 (Saturday) at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Arshdeep Singh and Ishan Kishan grabbed the limelight with their astonishing performances in the encounter.

After India opted to bat first, Kishan rocked the field with his incredible century. The left-handed batsman smacked the Kiwis bowlers all over the park, scoring 103 runs off 43 deliveries. Hitting 10 sixes during his knock, he set the stadium on fire and was also adjudged Player of the Match. He registered his first ton in T20Is.

Arshdeep impressed with his brilliant bowling show in the second innings, grabbing a five-wicket haul. The left-arm pacer helped India to defend their first innings total of 271/5, bowling out the Black Caps for 225 runs. Claiming 5/51 in his four-over spell, Arshdeep registered his first fifer in T20Is.

After rocking the field with their performances in the encounter, both Arshdeep and Ishan had a discussion over tennis. They argued over the Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic clash at the Australian Open 2026. Both the tennis stars are set to battle in the final of the Men’s singles category.

In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on X (formerly Twitter), Kishan was seen supporting Carlos while Arshdeep took Djokovic’s side. Their funny banter grabbed the attention of cricket fans on the micro-blogging platform. Have a look at the video below.

Meanwhile, with the victory in the 5th T20I, India went on to win the five-match series against New Zealand 4-1. Suryakumar Yadav, who hammered three fifties in the campaign, was adjudged Player of the Series.

While Kishan ended as the second-highest run-scorer with 215 runs in four games, Arshdeep finished as the leading wicket-taker with eight scalps. India are now gearing up for ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to commence on February 7.
