The highly anticipated sixth edition of the Hundred Men’s Competition is all set to get underway. The tournament will feature 8 teams competing in 34 matches between July 21 and August 16.
Each team will play 8 group games in a home and away format, and the top side will qualify for the final. The next two teams on the table will compete in the Eliminator to qualify for the final.
MI London (formerly known as Oval Invincibles) have won the last three editions and will defend their title. All 8 teams worked hard during the 2026 auction and have tried to strengthen their sides by picking up important names.
It is expected to be another blockbuster season for this exciting league. However, the tournament suffered a big blow just ahead of the start of the first game.
Jacob Bethell withdraws from the Hundred Men’s Competition 2026 due to a knee injury

Star English all-rounder Jacob Bethell has withdrawn from the Hundred Men’s Competition 2026. The 22-year-old who has established himself as a potential upcoming superstar for England cricket picked up a knee injury during the final ODI against India at Lord’s.
As reported by the Telegraph, Bethell will not be taking part in the upcoming edition of the tournament. It will be a body blow for Birmingham Phoenix, as he was expected to lead the team for the first time.
Bethell has been in tremendous form as he ended the ODI series against India with a Man of the Match performance in the series decider. He scored a blistering 91 with the bat and took two wickets with the ball. Notably, the 22-year-old went through an MRI scan on Monday.
His unavailability is due to precautionary reasons, and the injury hasn’t come at a right time for England. They are scheduled to host Pakistan for a Test series starting on August 19. Bethell has established himself as a solid no. 3 and has played a key role for the Test side.
Meanwhile, Birmingham Phoenix will have to find someone else to lead the side and fill the shoes of Bethell. The Phoenix will play their first game of the tournament on Friday against Trent Rockets at Edgbaston.
