Lucknow Super Giants announce Jaydev Unadkat's replacement for remainder of the IPL 2023
Lucknow Super Giants' pacer Jaydev Unadkat got ruled out of IPL 2023 after suffering shoulder injury in nets.
Lucknow Super Giants have announced Jaydev Unadkat’s replacement for the remainder of the IPL 2023. They have brought in Suryansh Shedge for the upcoming games. Jaydev Unadkat injured his shoulder during a practice session before the Royal Challengers Bangalore game at Ekana Stadium. 20-year-old batter from Mumbai, Suryansh Shedge joins the Lucknow Squad at just 20 lakhs. Suryansh will be joining the camp before Lucknow’s next game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday night. Jaydev Unadkat played only three games for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023 and he was wicketless in all three games.
31-year-old left-arm pacer from Saurashtra is also part of the Indian team for the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia. The WTC final is scheduled to start on 7th June at The Oval in England. It is expected that Unadkat will be fit before the WTC final. Team India and Lucknow have two setbacks in the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Captain KL Rahul was also ruled out from the IPL and WTC finals due to a hamstring injury. BCCI will be closely monitoring Unadkat’s fitness as there’s not much time left for the big game.
Suryansh Shedge is known for playing big knocks in the local Mumbai setup. Shedge is a batting all-rounder. He earned popularity among local Mumbai cricket people at a small age of just 14, and he is known for smashing boundaries with ease. IPL will be a different ball game for him. Lucknow Super Giants are in the race for playoffs and will take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on 20th May.
