Yashasvi Jaiswal registered a 59-ball ton in RR vs MI clash at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Match No. 38 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. It was the rematch of match No. 14, which was played earlier this season at the Wankhede Stadium. RR won that game, and they have made a double of that win after winning the recent game as well. And it came after an incredible century from Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The left-hander, who struggled throughout the season and didnā€™t have a fifty before this game, went on to register his second century in the IPL. Notably, he registered his maiden IPL hundred against MI as well in 2023. He didnā€™t score many runs but it was a great way to regain his form.

IPL 2024: Yashasvi Jaiswal registered his second IPL hundred in RR vs MI clash on Monday

Before these games, Jaiswal had only 121 runs in seven innings at a below-par average of 17.28 and a strike rate of 145.78. In six out of seven innings, he got out within the powerplay, and his highest was 39. But on Monday, he looked determined to play a long inning and make a contribution, and how well he did that. Fans were also excited about his return to form.

Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 104 of 60 balls with nine fours and seven sixes. He became the first batter to score two IPL centuries at the age of 22. Adding to that, he also became only the second batter after KL Rahul to smash multiple centuries against MI. Jaiswal added 74 runs for the opening wicket in eight overs with Jos Buttler (35 off 25).

Once Buttler got out, he added an unbeaten 109 runs for the second wicket with skipper Sanju Samson (38 off 28) to seal the deal for RR. Following his century, cricketing fraternity across social media lauded the youngster.

Hereā€™s how cricketing fraternity reacted to Yashasvi Jaiswalā€™s ton:

Earlier in the match, MI won the toss and decided to bat first. After losing the first four wickets for 52 runs, Tilak Varma (65 off 45) and Nehal Wadhera (49 off 24) helped MI reach 179/9. For RR, Sandeep Sharma took 5/18 in the first innings.
