Jofra Archer slams fake media reports claiming he left IPL for elbow surgery in Belgium

Jofra Archer had missed the last four games for Mumbai Indians, before returning recently.

England pacer Jofra Archer has slammed reporters for posting news claiming that he left the ongoing IPL 2023 in the midst for elbow surgery in Belgium. Archer is playing for Mumbai Indians (MI), but has missed four games after making his debut some time back.

Jofra Archer, according to the Daily Telegraph, briefly departed the Indian Premier League this month to go to Belgium, where he apparently underwent a little surgery on his problematic right elbow.

The English paceman was noticeably absent for Mumbai Indians; he played in the team's season-opening game on April 2, but then missed the team's next four games until making a comeback on Saturday.

The information that Archer was having pain in a joint that needed a pair of surgery and caused him to miss most of the last two years of play raised concerns.

Since Archer has just recently begun his comeback from stress fractures in his elbow and later his back, England's medical staff has been collaborating closely with their colleagues on the team.

The article said that Archer's return to action over the weekend, when he bowled his entire four-over allotment for speeds of 90 mph against Punjab Kings, suggests the problem is not a significant step backward for him.

Whoever the reporter is shame on you - Jofra Archer rebukes claims of undergoing surgery

Archer was not happy with the news of him flying to Belgium to consult the doctor who operated on his elbow and slammed the reporter and the agency for posting the news without his consent or permission.

He tweeted: “Putting out an article without knowing the facts & without my consent is crazy. Who ever the reporter is shame on you , an already worrying and troubling time for a player and you exploit it for your personal gain, it’s people like you that are the problem.”
