Jofra Archer unlikely to play in Mumbai Indians' next IPL 2023 match vs KKR - Reports

England’s pace bowler Jofra Archer is once again injured. Archer had missed the previous two games for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2023 and will also miss the next one against Kolkata Knight Riders on 16th April. After missing out on the IPL 2022, Archer was set to play this season. Yet he has played only one game so far for Mumbai Indians. Archer has caught up with the latest elbow problems. England and Wales Cricket Board is also worried about Archer’s persistent injury problems. The Next few months are big for the English Cricket Team.

Pace bowler Jofra Archer made his return to the Cricket field after almost two years in January 2023. Now with another Injury period, England Cricket Board is also in touch with the Mumbai Indians. They have been continuously taking information about their prime pace bowler. England are scheduled to play The Ashes against Australia in July this year. After that, they have a big task of defending their World Cup title in India. Archer played an important role in England’s World Cup victory in 2019.
Jofra Archer’s name was missing from the Mumbai Indians playing XI for the last two games. Captain Rohit Sharma informed everyone during the toss against RCB that Archer’s exclusion is precautionary keeping an injury in mind. Then he missed out on playing against Delhi Capitals. And as per a few reports from English media Standard, he will miss Sunday's game against Kolkata Knight Riders as well. After Bumrah’s absence, this has put Mumbai Indians in troubled waters. England is also worried about their upcoming big fixtures in International Cricket.

Captain Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Tilak Verma scored good runs against the Capitals. Rohit scored 65, Kishan scored 31 and Tilak Verma scored 41 runs in their respective innings. Mumbai Indians are placed at 8th position in the points table with 2 points in 3 games. They will next play KKR on the 16th of April.
