[Watch] Karan KC takes a juggling catch on fourth attempt of Heinrich Klaasen in SA vs NEP clash at ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Karan KC ended Klaasen’s innings on three runs with a juggling catch at extra cover.

The Nepal cricket team came inches close to beating South Africa on Friday night at the Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent in their Group D match at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. But the Rohit Paudel-led side fell only one run short of South Africa’s total of 115.

Nonetheless, Nepal showed the world that they have the players to step up against the big boys of international cricket. That they did in a world event makes their effort more memorable.

Also memorable for a while would be Karan KC’s hilarious, juggling catch of South African power-hitter Heinrich Klaasen.

Klaasen was caught by Karan at extra cover in the 14th over of South Africa’s innings. It was a simply catch that was going Karan’s way but the fielder messed up it in the first chance and needed to juggle it a few times before finally completing the catch with one hand.

Aiming to hit a maximum in order to improve the run rate, Klaasen went after Kushal Bhurtel on the off-side off a loopy leg-break from the leg-spinner. However, the batter didn’t time and place his shot as he would have wanted to and it went straight to Karan at extra cover near the boundary line.

Karan, though, made an easy catch into a tough one as he juggled it thrice. He almost would have dropped the catch but managed to cling onto the ball with one hand! Karan and his teammates had smiles on their face, but only moments ago they were fearing for a dropped catch.

South Africa sealed their fourth win in four games in the group stage, while Nepal suffered a second loss. Nepal have one game left, against Bangladesh.
