Indian Cricket Team will tour England next month for the test series. Ahead of the series, India A and England Lions are clashing with each other in a two-match unofficial test matches. The first unofficial test match began at St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury on May 30.
England Lions captain James Rew won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. While India A lost both of their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Abhimanyu Easwaran cheaply in the first innings, Karun Nair has come up with a marvellous batting show in the encounter.
The right-handed batsman reached his double century in the match on day 2. With his double ton, Nair has helped the team to cross 450 runs on the board. Other than Nair, Sarfaraz Khan (92) and Dhruv Jurel (94) also slammed wonderful knocks in the clash.
Nair finished his innings at 204 off 281 deliveries. His innings included 26 boundaries and a sole six.

Notably, Nair’s knock on the English soil has come as a big boost for the Indian Team ahead of their test series against England. The 33-year-old batter is also part of India’s squad for the England tests. He was one of the surprising picks in the team by making his return to the test side after a gap of eight years.
Nair, who also owns a test triple hundred in his kitty, last played for India during a test series against Australia in March 2017. With his consistent batting performance in domestic cricket, Nair got a national call for the England series.
India’s new test captain Shubman Gill will take charge of the Indian Team against England in the five-match test series. The opening game will begin on June 20 at Headingley in Leeds. The fifth and the final test will conclude in the first week of August and will be played at the Kennington Oval in London.
Gill will be joined by deputy Rishabh Pant as the vice-captain. However, Gill has a big responsibility on his shoulders as he has many youngsters in the squad. Also, he lacks experience as the skipper of the national team. Veteran members like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired from test cricket earlier this month.
