Kieron Pollard smashed 52 off 19 deliveries for TKR against SLK in CPL 2024.

Legendary all-rounder Kieron Pollard once again showed the world why he is recognized as one of the greatest batters at the death overs, especially in T20 cricket.

In the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024, Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) captain Kieron Pollard smashed an unbeaten fifty along with four sixes in an over during an intense chase against the St. Lucia Kings (SLK).

TKR skipper Pollard came into the crease when his side was in a spot of bother while chasing 188 runs, with the score reading 123-4 in the 14th over. TKR lost two more wickets of – Keacy Carty and Andries Gous in the 17th over, leaving the equation to 32 runs required off the final three overs.

SLK pacer Alzarri Joseph bowled a five-run over in the 18th over of the TKR innings, which left the equation to 27 runs needed off the last 12 deliveries.

Kieron Pollard hammers four sixes in an over against Matthew Forde

A tight over by Joseph meant that TKR needed 27 runs off the 12 balls, and they needed their skipper Pollard to step up on the big occasion.

SLK bowler Matthew Forde started with a dot ball to Pollard in the 19th over. On the next delivery, Pollard muscled away for a huge maximum over backward square leg. However, Forde once again bowled a dot delivery, which put pressure on the TKR skipper.

The veteran all-rounder kept his calm and hammered three maximums in a row to finish off the over. Pollard’s brutal hitting left TKR to chase just three runs in the final over.

Batter Akeal Hosein hammered a boundary on the first delivery of the 20th over as TKR won the match by four wickets over SLK.

TKR skipper Pollard was named Player of the Match for playing a match-winning knock of 52 runs off just 19 deliveries, including seven maximums.
