Rishabh Pant top-scored for DC in their huge chase against KKR.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) demolished Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam in the 16th match of the IPL 2024 tournament. DC were asked to chase a 273-run target but could only manage 166 and lost by 106 runs.

After the match, KKR co-owner and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan gave the people watching in the stadium and on the TV, a wholesome moment with his gesture towards DC captain Rishabh Pant.

Following KKR’s huge victory, the 58-year-old actor visited the pitch in Vizag to meet and congratulate players. His connection with the wicket-keeper batsman was the high point of his post-match formalities.

Rishabh Pant, who was relaxing on the field, jumped up to welcome the Bollywood megastar, who asked him to remain seated. As a mark of respect, Pant stood up and they hugged each other, exchanging some remarks.

The moment went viral on social media, with people praising the actor for his gesture. The mutual admiration was evident as Shah Rukh Khan seemed genuine in what he told Pant, while the DC captain was attentive throughout the duration of the conversation.

Talking about the game, KKR captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first. KKR posted 272/7 in 20 overs. The main demolisher was Sunil Narine, who made 85 in 39 balls with seven fours and as many sixes. Angkrish Raghuvanshi made 54, while Andre Russell (41) and Rinku Singh (26) played valuable cameos.

In response, Tristan Stubbs made 54 with 4 fours and 4 sixes, while DC captain Rishabh Pant made 55 runs in just 25 balls. He hammered five sixes and 4 fours in his knock, including hitting Venkatesh Iyer for 28 runs in one over.
