According to some rumours, DC were in talks with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a trade of Rahul. However, the latest post by DC co-owner Parth Jindal has ended all these speculations. Parth shared a tweet on his official X handle.
He wrote:
“KL IS KLUTCH FOR @DelhiCapitals – one of the nicest guys i know and one who puts the team before himself always. We have unfinished business and will work hard together to make Delhi proud @IPL.”
On reacting to the tweet, Rahul himself replied, “Thank you, can’t wait for the coming season.” It surely ended the conjecture about his exit from the franchise. The 34-year-old joined the franchise in the 2025 edition.
He has played two seasons with them. Rahul has been the mainstay of the batting unit in these two editions. He has scored 593 and 539, respectively, in two editions. In this duration, he has also scored two centuries and 8 half-centuries, including the highest individual score by an Indian, which came last season.
Rahul’s stay with DC can boost their strength. He and Pant can add the necessary experience in the batting unit, which they missed last season. With Pant in the batting line, Rahul can play freely at the top and can be more dangerous.
