Watch: Kuldeep Yadav bowls a beauty to castle Iftikhar Ahmed behind his legs in IND vs PAK CWC 2023 match
Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets conceding 35 runs in his quota of 10 overs.
Kuldeep Yadav was at his best during the India vs Pakistan match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14, 2023.
Both sides came into this match having won their first two matches in the tournament. India defeated Australia and Afghanistan in their opening encounters, while Pakistan defeated the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
Rohit Sharma won the toss in Ahmedabad and India opted to bowl. Shubman Gill made his Cricket World Cup debut replacing Ishan Kishan in the playing XI.
Imam Ul Haq and Abdullah Shafique started positively adding 41 runs in the first 9 overs. But then Shafique was out LBW to Mohammed Siraj for 20 and Imam fell to Hardik Pandya for 36 runs.
Then Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam added 82 runs for the third wicket. However, Mohammed Siraj castled Babar Azam right after he completed his 50. Then Saud Shakeel joined Rizwan in the middle and the two tried to consolidate a bit.
But Shakeel could only manage to stay at the crease for 10 balls before he was out LBW to Kuldeep Yadav. India opted for DRS and the replays showed that he was plumb LBW and Saud walked back to the pavilion for 6 runs.
Iftikhar Ahmed hits a four and gets out to Kuldeep Yadav soon after
The next batter in was the dangerous Iftikhar Ahmed and he showed some intent by hitting Kuldeep Yadav for a four over mid-wicket. However, Kuldeep Yadav got the best of him in the same over as Saud Shakeel.
After being hit for a four on a short ball, Kuldeep delivered a wrong one on the leg stump and Iftikhar Ahmed tried to sweep the ball. But the ball turned enough to dismantle his leg stump and everyone was awed by Kuldeep Yadav’s talent.
