Kuldeep Yadav registered his fifth five-wicket haul in test cricket during the encounter.
Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav played a prominent role in helping India bowl out the West Indies for a low score in first innings of the second test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The left-arm spinner took a sensational five-wicket haul on day three of the match on Sunday, October 12.
The left-arm spinner registered figures of 5/82 in 26.5 overs, dismissing Alick Athanaze, Shai Hope, Tevin Imlach, Justin Greaves, and Jayden Seales. The West Indies were bowled out for 248 runs in the first innings, gifting a lead of 270 runs to India.
Notably, none of the West Indies batters could score a half-century in the first innings. Alick Athanaze top scored for the side with a knock of 41 runs. Ravindra Jadeja registered a three-wicket haul, while pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj got one scalp each.

With his fifer in the match, Kuldeep has captured a brilliant record in his name, becoming the fastest left-arm wrist spinner to capture five five-wicket hauls in the longest format. The 30-year-old has achieved the milestone in 15 tests.
The next player on the list is former England spinner Johnny Wardle, who reached the mark in 28 games. Both of them also own the record for most five-wicket hauls by left-arm wrist spinners in tests.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill & Co. are en route to a huge victory in the second test against West Indies. Earlier, the hosts won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. With a century by Shubman Gill (129*) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (175), India posted 518/5 in the first innings.
Bundling out the opposition for 248 runs in the first innings, India earned a lead of 270 runs and enforced a follow-on. They aim for their clean sweep in the second test after winning the opening game by an innings and 140 runs.
