[Watch] LSG coach Justin Langer reveals how M Siddharth manifested and dismissed Virat Kohli in IPL 2024

M Siddharth registered figures of 1/21 against RCB on Tuesday.

Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) uncapped spinner M Siddharth’s had a memorable game as he picked maiden wicket of his IPL career by dismissing Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) star opener Virat Kohli during the match 15 of the ongoing IPL 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 3.

The young left-arm spinner Siddharth went wicketless in LSG’s last match against Punjab Kings. However, the LSG spinner opened his account with a crucial wicket against Bengaluru. The Tamil Nadu cricketer was bought into the attack in the fifth over and claimed the crucial wicket of in-form Kohli on the second ball of his first over.

Siddharth delivered the ball at good length and Kohli was attempting to play a flick shot but the ball edged the bat and Devdutt Padikkal, who was stationed at point took an easy catch. He removed well-set Kohli for 22.

LSG coach Justin Langer praised the youngster’s efforts in picking his maiden IPL wicket of none other than ace batter Kohli in his second match of the ongoing IPL 2024. Siddharth registered match figures of 1/21 in three overs against Bengaluru. 

In the latest video uploaded on LSG’s social handle ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Langer was seen having a chat with the team about Siddharth’s first impression. The Super Giants coach narrated a story where he had seen the Siddharth bowl an arm ball, and then asked him if he can dismiss Virat Kohli. In response, the youngster said, “Yes sir!” Later he dismissed Kohli in the game to claim his maiden IPL wicket.

“Had never spoken to him before but I saw bowl an arm ball. The first thing to come out of my mouth after meeting M Siddharth was ‘Hey Sid! you reckon you can get Virat out for us?’ He goes, ‘Yes sir!’. And what did he do? He gets him out.” Langer said in the video.
