Amol Kale attended the India vs Pakistan clash in New York on Sunday.
A day after attending the IND vs PAK clash in New York, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Amol Kale passed away due to a cardiac arrest.
On Sunday, Kale was present at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, where India produced a spectacular bowling performance to defend 119 against Pakistan and won by six runs in their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 clash.
Kale watched the match with other MCA office-bearers, MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and apex council member Suraj Samat.
Kale, 47, had replaced former India cricketer Sandeep Patil as the MCA President in 2022. Among the biggest changes made under Kale at the MCA was to match the BCCI match fees of India’s test cricketers to Mumbai’s red-ball players for the upcoming 2024-25 domestic season. This was done in order to incentivize the Mumbai cricketers for red-ball cricket.
Amol Kale couldn’t complete his tenure of two years at MCA due to his sudden demise
Settled in Mumbai, Kale, who was an electrical engineering from Nagpur University, was also a businessman who had investments in multiple businesses. He was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of J K Solutions Private Limited and Arpita Enterprises.
Under Kale’s leadership, the MCA successfully organized matches at the World Cup 2023, including the semi-final against New Zealand, which India won. Last year, the MCA erected a statue of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
According to The Indian Express, Kale was also a member of Tirupati Balaji Devasthan Trust in Andhra Pradesh. He played a crucial role in finding land for the Lord Shri Venkateswara Temple at Ulwe in Navi Mumbai.
The MCA is awaiting more details from its office-bearers in the USA on Kale’s sudden demise.
Kale was known to be a close associate of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
