Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are clashing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The encounter is underway at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first in the clash.
While MI made no changes to their playing XI, CSK made two changes. The first innings was all about Sanju Samson, who came up with an outstanding century, smacking MI bowlers all over the park.
Scoring unbeaten 101 runs off 54 balls, he registered his second century of IPL 2026. Earlier, he also scored a century against Delhi Capitals (DC). Other CSK batters struggled to support him but, thanks to his knock, CSK reached a gigantic total of 207/6 in 20 overs.

While bowling, MI suffered a big blow as their all-rounder Mitchell Santner suffered a shoulder injury. He got hurt while attempting a dive to grab a catch of Kartik Sharma. As a result, he had to leave the field immediately. In the dug-out, he was seen in immense pain with an ice pack on his shoulder.
His injury, if serious, will come as a big blow for MI as he has been doing a great job with the ball. In the ongoing clash, he picked one wicket. Overall, he has featured in four games and picked five wickets in IPL 2026 at an economy of 8.92. Earlier, he also missed a game due to illness.
Both CSK and MI have lost four games and won only two out of six so far. They have four points in their kitties.
