Travis Head got out on a two-ball duck during the Qualifier 1 match against KKR.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Qualifier 1 between two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and one-time winners Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), KKR speedster Mitchell Starc dismantled Travis Head’s stumps at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 21.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Hyderabad had a bad start as they lost the in-form Australian opener in the very first over of their innings.
On the second ball of the first over, Starc bowled a full delivery in line with the stumps and there was a little late outward movement around the off stump. Head looked to play it down the ground with rooted feet, leaving a sizeable bat-pad gap that was enough for the ball to sneak through and smash the middle and off stumps. Head departed for a two-ball duck.
Here is the video:
This is Head’s second duck in consecutive innings. In SRH’s last league stage match, Punjab Kings’ left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh also bowled a similar kind of delivery that knocked Head’s sticks.
