Lucknow Super Giants franchise have roped in former India chief selector MSK Prasad.

After the conclusion of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, a number of franchises made some big moves with their coaching staffs. Some of them sacked the head coaches and members of the support staff. The Lucknow Super Giants are the team that made some big calls and replaced Andy Flower with Justin Langer as head coach.

Now, it has been learned that the franchise has also roped in former Indian cricketer MSK Prasad as a Strategic Consultant for the 17th edition of the league. Prasad has been a well-known figure when it comes to experience and knowledge at both the domestic and international levels. He was the former Chairman of India’s Senior Selection Committee.

MSK Prasad will bring vast experience and knowledge to help the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2024

Apart from being the former Chairman of the selection committee, MSK Prasad also served as the Director of Cricket Operations of the Andhra Cricket Association. His inclusion with RPSG Sports will help the management come up with new plans and strategies that will help the team do well in the coming seasons.

After making their IPL debut in 2022, LSG qualified for the playoffs on both the editions they participated. However, they finished in fourth place in both seasons. The franchise looks keen to go into the next edition with a new coaching staff. Gautam Gambhir is the mentor, while Morne Morkel has retained his place as a bowling coach on the team.

Jonty Rhodes has also been kept as the fielding coach. It will be interesting to see, how the new management will work and perform in 2024. Notably, Langer, who has replaced Andy Flower as head coach, doesn’t have experience coaching an IPL team. But he was the head coach of Australia when they won the 2021 T20 World Cup. But Prasad’s addition will surely bring more stability to the group.
