Mumbai Indians will play their first match of IPL 2025 on March 23 against Chennai Super Kings.

Mumbai Indians (MI) are gearing up to win their sixth trophy as they will begin their journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with a game against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK). This clash is scheduled to be played on March 23 (Sunday) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Hardik Pandya will be leading this star-studded side, which has some of the best T20 cricketers. Jasprit Bumrah might miss a few games at the start due to injury, but he is expected to join the side soon. Meanwhile, the franchise did pretty well at the auction to compile a formidable squad for IPL 2025.

MI finished last in IPL 2024 and will hope to give their fans a good show this time. Mumbai Indians Women recently won the WPL 2025, and now their men’s side will hope to lift the IPL trophy.

Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2024

The IPL 2024 was a horrible season for the five-time champions. They finished at the bottom of the points table. Prior to the tournament last year, Hardik Pandya was traded in, and he replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain. However, that didn’t fare well as their fans showed anger on the decision and then the side not only failed to qualify for the playoff, but also finished at bottom of the points table.
