Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are two dominant teams in Indian Premier League (IPL). While MI have been part of the tournament since the maiden edition in 2008, GT joined the league in the 2022 edition.

Speaking about Gujarat Titans, they scripted history in their maiden edition in 2022 by winning the trophy. Under Hardik Pandya’s leadership, they were the most dominant side in the tournament. They also ended up as runners-up in the 2023 season. They are currently led by Shubman Gill.
The GT vs MI rivalry came to the limelight in IPL 2023 when Gujarat crushed Mumbai in the Qualifier 2, ending the latter’s journey in the tournament. In the 2025 edition, MI avenged their defeat by crushing GT in the Eliminator and pushing them out of the league.

Mumbai have a poor record against Gujarat at Narendra Modi Stadium in the IPL. GT have defeated them in all four clashes at the venue in the past. Moreover, in all the matches, MI lost while chasing.
Gujarat also have an edge in overall head-to-head records, winning five games and losing three out of eight games. At Wankhede Stadium, both sides have won one match.
