Nitish Reddy played a crucial role for India in Afghanistan ODIs.
India are set for a busy stretch of white-ball cricket with a two-match T20I series in Ireland followed by a limited-overs tour of England. The assignments will mark the beginning of a new cycle for the national team, with several young players expected to play key roles.
The team management already had to deal with a number of fitness concerns in recent weeks. Workload management and injuries have become important considerations as India prepare for consecutive overseas tours in quick succession.
One of the players whose availability has been under scrutiny was all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. The Andhra Pradesh cricketer missed the second ODI against Afghanistan earlier this month after the BCCI confirmed that he was nursing a quadriceps injury.
Nitish Reddy ruled out of Ireland and England series due to quadriceps injury; Suryansh Shedge to replace him

However, now, according to The Times of India journalist Gaurav Gupta, Nitish Reddy’s left quadriceps injury has aggravated, ruling him out of both the Ireland and England tours. Gupta added that the BCCI is expected to issue an official statement regarding this update.
As per the reports, BCCI will be announcing all-rounder Suryansh Shedge as Reddy’s replacement. The board is yet to make an official announcement of the update.
The Men in Blue are scheduled for a two-match T20I series against Ireland before travelling to England for a five-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series. Reddy has been in contention for a permanent place in the white-ball squads for his performances as a seam-bowling all-rounder.
The absence of Reddy will be a blow for the team management as they will lack a quality pace bowling all-rounder. He was in the team after Hardik Pandya was ruled out of both tours due to injury.
When is the Ireland series starting?
India’s tour of Ireland will begin on June 26.
When is the England vs India T20I and ODI series starting?
The five-match T20I series will start on July 1 and the three-match ODI series will commence on July 14.
