Pakistan have named 22-year-old Fatima Sana as their captain for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The Pakistan women’s team have made eight appearances in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup till now. However, they are yet to reach the semi-finals even once. Pakistan have a dismal record at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup – eight wins in 32 games.
The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 3 to October 20 this year.
The Women in Green are placed in Group A along with India, Australia, New Zealand and defending champions Australia. Talking about their squad, the Pakistan Cricket Board has named 22-year-old Fatima Sana as new captain of the side.

Pakistan will play their opening group stage match against Sri Lanka on October 3. Their next group stage match is against arch-rivals India on October 6. The Women in Green will then take on defending champions Australia on October 11. Their last group stage fixture is against New Zealand on October 14.

Pakistan’s first match is scheduled to be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. Their remaining three group stage fixtures will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
