Pakistan schedule for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 – Timings, dates, venues and all you need to know
Pakistan will kick off their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Sri Lanka on October 3.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will start on October 3 in Sharjah, with Bangladesh facing Scotland in an afternoon game. Australia are the defending champions of the showpiece event.
Bangladesh were originally slated to host the tournament, but due to political instability and nationwide protests in the country, the ICC shifted the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to the UAE. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will retain the hosting rights of the tournament.
The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup will be contested among 10 nations. A total of 23 matches will be played, with the final slated for October 20.
There are two groups of five teams each. Every nation will play four matches in the group stage. The top two sides from each group will head towards the semi-finals.
Pakistan are placed in Group A along with India, Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
On August 25, 2024, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming women’s ICC tournament. The selection committee has named 20-year-old Fatima Sana as the new captain for the Women in Green.
The selection committee has made one change to the squad that recently featured in the Women’s Asia Cup. PCB have also added Naijha Alvi as travelling reserve. Rameen Shamim and Umm-e-Hani have been included as non-travelling reserves.

Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Scotland
Pakistan schedule for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024:
Pakistan will play their opening match against Sri Lanka in Sharjah on the evening of October 3. The Women in Green will face arch-rivals India in Dubai on October 6. On October 11, Pakistan will take on defending champions Australia in Dubai. Their final group stage match is against New Zealand on October 14 in Dubai.
