Punjab Kings' all-rounder Raj Bawa is ruled out of the IPL 2023 with left shoulder injury.

There seems no ending to the injury list in the IPL 2023. It’s only the first week of the Indian Premier League and many big players have been ruled out from the entire season due to injury problems. They are also looking for a replacement for their players, Punjab Kings' young all-rounder option Raj Angad Bawa is the new entry on the ‘injured and out’ of the season list. Punjab Kings have replaced Raj Bawa with another young all-rounder from Punjab, Gurnoor Singh. Punjab has roped in Gurnoor Brar for 20 Lakh rupees.

Gurnoor Brar yet to make his T20 debut

India’s Under 19 star from the last batch, Raj Angad Bawa is out of the league due to an injury on his left shoulder. Raj has played only two in the IPL for Punjab Kings. Left hand batting All-rounder Gurnoor Brar made his first class debut last season for Punjab. So far in his career, he has played in 5 First Class and only one List A game for his state. The 22 year old youngster from Muktsar is yet to make his T20 debut.

Punjab Kings will miss Jonny Bairstow too

This is the second setback Punjab Kings has suffered this season. Before Raj Bawa, English wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow was also ruled out for the entire season due to an injury. Mathew Short from Australia was brought in as Bairstow’s replacement in the Punjab setup. Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan is leading the side this year as Punjab had released Mayank Agarwal from the team before the IPL Auction 2023 in Kochi.

They had a wonderful start to their season. Playing at Lion’s Den in Mohali, Punjab defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 runs (DLS method). Rain played a spoilsport in the latter part of the game. Punjab will be taking on Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on Wednesday. Punjab and Rajasthan both are firm favorites for the title this year.
