The race for the playoffs in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is getting more interesting after every game. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost against Gujarat Titans on Friday, which has opened the gates for some other teams. It has given a push to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) as well.
And now these two teams will face off against each other in match No. 62 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. RCB have ten points, while DC have 12 in total. The team that loses this game will be put in a situation where there is no way to come back.
RCB vs DC: Head-to-Head
A total of 30 matches have been played between RCB and DC in the IPL. RCB have a good lead with 18 wins as compared to 11 games for DC, while one game was washed out.
RCB vs DC: Top five player battles to watch out for
1. Virat Kohli vs Axar Patel

Virat Kohli is leading the Orange Cap race in the IPL 2024. He is coming off a Man of the Match performance in the last game with a brilliant innings. He has good numbers in Chinnaswamy Stadium, and he will be a big headache for DC. But his numbers against DC spinners are average. Axar Patel has bowled 71 balls to Kohli and conceded only 78 runs at a strike rate of 109.09. He has also dismissed Virat once, while Virat has only hit seven boundaries in 71 balls off Axar.
2. Faf du Plessis vs Khaleel Ahmed
Faf du Plessis will also be a big wicket in the game. He will be carrying on the momentum and will look to take on the DC bowlers from the first ball. But he will face the new ball against Khaleel Ahmed, who will take the ball into the stumps. Khaleel is in good rhythm and will be a challenge for the new ball to score runs off. He dismissed Du Plessis last time when these two teams met in 2023.
3. Rajat Patidar vs Kuldeep Yadav
Rajat Patidar has hit four half-centuries in the last 6 innings. And all those fifties have come with a strike rate of over 200. Patidar hits a six after every 5.6 balls in the middle overs, which is the best this season for an Indian batter. He has a strike rate of 256 against spinners. But can he do it against Kuldeep Yadav? Well, he will be up against one of the best, and Kuldeep has everything to do well against him. Hence, this will be an important matchup in the RCB vs DC clash.
4. Jake Fraser-McGurk vs Yash Dayal

Jake Fraser-McGurk’s inclusion at the top has changed things for DC this seasontko. Since then, they have become a destructive batting unit because McGurk is setting the tone within the powerplay. He has hit three half-centuries in less than 20 balls. And the Chinnaswamy is not big enough to stop him. However, Yash Dayal can be handy against him. He bowls wide yorkers, swings the ball, and also his slower ones, which can be effective against him.
5. Tristan Stubbs vs Mohammed Siraj
In the absence of Rishabh Pant, Tristan Stubbs will have a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. He might come in to bat up the order. DC will look to capitalize on his good form and make the most use of it. If he can play a few overs, he can score more runs at the backend. But then Mohammed Siraj will be a big factor. He is in good form and has looked good in the last few matches. So it will be an interesting battle in the RCB vs DC clash.
