Top five player battles to watch out for in SRH vs PBKS match No. 69 in IPL 2024

Match No. 69 of the IPL 2024 will be a SRH vs PBKS clash to take place on Sunday afternoon in Hyderabad.

The group stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has almost come to an end, and four teams will compete in the playoff round. But still, there is a fight for the second spot between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals. Both will play their last group matches on Sunday, and a win is necessary.

SRH will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the afternoon game at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. SRH have 15 points on the board and will start as favourites because PBKS will miss their key players in the game due to injury and national duties. So it will be a great chance for SRH to add two points here.

1. Travis Head vs Arshdeep Singh

Travis Head has been in absolute blistering form. He is not just scoring runs, but doing it in a way that is destroying the confidence of the opposition. That is why it will be important for PBKS to get him out, and that too with the new ball. He will surely come after the bowlers. Arshdeep Singh will have this task to get him out. He dismissed Head earlier this season and will look to do it again.

2. Abhishek Sharma vs Harpreet Brar

Abhishek Sharma will be another batter who will look to attack PBKS bowlers from the word go. He has overpowered Head on some occasions, and it has been the best season for the Indian star. He is not shying away from taking risks, which is paying for him. Abhishek takes more risks against spinners and tries to score more runs. His Punjab teammate Harpreet Brar will be up against each other. Both have played a lot of cricket together. Brar has also dismissed him once in the IPL with six balls and will look to do it again.

3. Heinrich Klaasen vs Harshal Patel

Heinrich Klaasen is another SRH batter whom PBKS will look to dismiss early on. Because if he gets set, SRH will be up for another record-breaking total. Klaasen has already shown what he can do in some games, and that is what is expected of him. However, he will be facing Purple Cap holder Harshal Patel in the final overs, which will be an important battle in the SRH vs PBKS clash. Harshal is also doing well this season and has 22 wickets. The pacer has done well against Klaasen. He has dismissed him twice in 14 balls in the IPL, including the last match.

4. Rille Rossouw vs Pat Cummins

In the absence of Curran, Bairstow and Livingstone, it will be Rilee Rossouw who needs to take on more responsibility. Shikhar Dhawan will also be not available, so we might see Rossouw play a mature innings for the team. He has been in good form in the last few matches and is striking the ball well. But he will have to face a few good bowlers, especially, Pat Cummins. The SRH skipper has bowled 27 balls to Rossouw in international cricket and dismissed him twice, so it will be an important battle.

5. Prabhsimran Singh vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Prabhsimran Singh is another PBKS batter who had a decent IPL 2024 season. He has scored some crucial runs and will be opening the innings. But he will have to deal with the swing of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is bowling well. Bhuvi has troubled Prabhsimran in the IPL. Bhuvi has dismissed the PBKS opener three times in just 11 balls, which is pretty excellent.
