7 Players who currently earn less than 1 crore in IPL but can fetch 10+ crores if put up in the auction

IPL 2024 auction is all set to take place on 19 December, 2023 in the UAE.
The preparations for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League are in full swing. All teams have released the players that they don’t want and will look to add some more during the coming auction. The IPL 2024 auction will take place in the UAE on December 19. Every franchise has got INR 5 crore extra to spend at the auction.
The last auction in 2023 was a record-breaking one. It saw a number of players get incredible deals that didn’t happen in the past. However, there are some players who have been retained by their franchises but could potentially get a 10+ crore bid if they had entered the auction. Interestingly, they are currently getting a salary cap of under INR 1 crore.
Here are 7 Players who currently earn less than 1 crore but can fetch 10+ crores at the IPL Auction
7. Jitesh Sharma (20 lakhs):

Jitesh Sharma has been part of the Punjab Kings since the 2022 season. He was signed by the franchise at a price of INR 70 lakhs. But he has certainly done more than his worth in the tournament. Jitesh has been a big striker who has been incredible with his consistency for PBKS. In 26 games, he has scored 543 runs at an incredible strike rate of 159.2, and being an Indian wicket-keeper, he can certainly attract big contact at the IPL auction.
6. Mohsin Khan (20 lakhs):

An Indian left-arm pacer who can bowl consistently over 140 km/h and swing a ball is a rarity, and Mohsin Khan comes with this skill set. The 28-year-old is part of the Lucknow Super Giants, who picked him at his base price of INR 20 lakhs. However, he has now become the leading pacer for the franchise and has done well. In 14 games, he has taken 17 wickets at a superb economy rate of 7.07, and there will be a number of teams who would love to have him on their side.
5. Maheesh Theekshana (70 lakhs):

Sri Lankan star spinner Maheesh Theekshana has established himself as one of the leading spinners in the white-ball formats, and he has a big demand in franchise tournaments around the world. However, in the IPL, he is currently with CSK for a price of INR 70 lakhs. But he can fetch some big money if he enters the IPL auction. Theekshana has taken 23 wickets at an economy of 7.77 for the CSK.
4. B. Sai Sudharsan (20 lakhs):

Sai Sudharsan is an exciting young talent who has been part of the Gujarat Titans for two seasons now. He was signed at a base price of INR 20 lakhs in 2022. He didn’t get many chances in the initial season. But he got his chance in 2023 and showed that he belongs on a big stage. He got his chances after Williamson got injured in the tournament’s opener and has never looked back since then. It was his brilliant innings in the final against CSK that took his team to a big score. He has also done well at the domestic level and can be a hot prospect at the auction.
Notably, Sai Sudharsan’s contract in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is higher than that of his IPL contract. In TNPL, he earns 21.60 lakhs, while for GT in the IPL, he gets only 20 lakhs.
3. Mohit Sharma (50 lakhs):

“Purple Cap” winner of the 2014 season Mohit Sharma missed a few IPL seasons, and finally he got a buyer in 2023 when GT signed him for a price of INR 50 lakhs. And he didn’t disappoint. Mohit ended as the second-highest wicket-taker in 2023 and took 27 wickets in just 14 matches, which was one reason that GT qualified for the final. He also has the experience of playing for India, and with his current form, he can certainly go for big bucks at the auction.
2. Rinku Singh (55 lakhs):

Who doesn’t want to have Rinku Singh on their side? The young man has been phenomenal for KKR and has done some incredible things that no other big names have done so far. The IPL 2023 was the turning point of his career, and he earned his maiden call for the Indian team. Rinku Singh is certainly a prospect for the future and will without a doubt become one of the most expensive players in the IPL if he enters auction. In the IPL 2022 auction, KKR bought him for 55 lakhs, and have retained him since then for the same price tag.
1. Ruturaj Gaikwad (20 lakhs):

The Orange Cap holder of the 2021 edition and one main reason that CSK have won two seasons in the last three editions, Ruturaj Gaikwad has become a massive name in the upcoming stars for India. He led the Indian team to win a gold medal at the Asian Games 2023. He is with CSK for a price of just INR 20 lakhs, which will certainly force many fans to scratch their heads. But he can definitely cross 10 crore at the IPL auction if he comes under the hammer.
