4 players who went unsold in IPL 2023 auction, but got bought in the IPL 2024 auction

These four players didn’t attract any bids in the last season but flourished in the IPL 2024 auction.
An IPL auction is always an exciting event to watch, and the recently concluded one in Dubai was certainly the talk of the town. It saw some record-breaking deals, and Mitchell Starc became the costliest player in history. The Kolkata Knight Riders bought the ace pacer for a whopping price of INR 24.75 crore.
On the other hand, there were a few players who finally got a deal after getting unsold in the last auction. In this article, we will talk about four players who didn’t get any buyers in the 2023 auction but made it to the IPL in the recently concluded IPL 2024 auction.
Here are the 4 players who went unsold in IPL 2023 auction, but got bought in the IPL 2024 auction
4. Sherfane Rutherford:

West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford didn’t find any buyers in the 2023 edition. But fortunately for him, it was the Kolkata Knight Riders that bid for him and signed him at a price of INR 1.5 crore. The all-rounder will join the likes of Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Jason Roy, Shreyas Iyer, and others in the KKR camp.
3. Dilshan Madushanka:

Sri Lankan left-arm pacer Dilshan Madushanka registered himself at the 2023 auction but couldn’t make it to the leg. But after a brilliant show at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, where he troubled the batters with his swing and accuracy, he was on the list of a few IPL franchises. Eventually, the Mumbai Indians signed him at a price of INR 4.6 crore. He will be bowling alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee.
2. Daryl Mitchell

Daryl Mitchell was released by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2023 auction, and he didn’t find any buyers in 2023. But after that, his performance graph at the international level reached new heights. He was one of the top performers in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, which caught the attention of the world. Hence, he was the third-most expensive player at the IPL 2024 auction. CSK bought him for INR 14 crore.
1. Travis Head

Travis Head was so unlucky in 2023 that none of the IPL franchises made a bid for him. But he was back this time around after some brilliant international performances. He scored hundreds in the finals of the World Test Championship and World Cup 2023, which skyrocketed his stocks. Sunriers Hyderabad bought the southpaw at the IPL 2024 auction for a price of INR 6.8 crore.
