Former Indian pacer Lakshmipathy Balaji has featured in two IPL finals but lost both of them. He was part of the runners-up Chennai Super Kings in 2008 and the Kings XI Punjab in 2014.
Sreenath Aravind- Lost 2 out of 2
Sreenath Aravind has played two IPL finals with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) but lost both. He was part of the RCB team that lost the 2011 edition against CSK. Later, he also played for runners-up RCB in the 2016 season.
Jaydev Unadkat- Lost 2 out of 2

Seam all-rounder Jayden Unadkat was part of the Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) that lost the final against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2017. He was also part of Sunrisers Hyderabad when they lost IPL 2024 final against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Marcus Stoinis- Lost 2 out of 2
Australian all-rounder Marcus Stonis has featured in two IPL finals but lost on both occasions. He represented Delhi Capitals in the 2020 season, who lost the final against Mumbai Indians. He was also part of the runners-up Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final.
Axar Patel- Lost 2 out of 2

All-rounder Axar Patel lost his first final in the IPL in the 2014 edition, where he was part of Punjab Kings. He also played for Delhi in the IPL 2020 final against MI.
Zaheer Khan- Lost 2 out of 2
Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan has featured in two IPL finals but lost both. He played for Mumbai Indians in 2010, where they lost to CSK. He was also part of the RCB team that lost the IPL 2011 final against Super Kings.
Shimron Hetmyer- Lost 2 out of 2
West Indies batter Shimron Hetmyer has featured in two IPL finals with two different teams but lost both encounter. He played for DC in IPL 2020 final against MI. He also played for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 final, where they lost to the Gujarat Titans.
Chris Gayle- Lost 2 out of 2

Chris Gayle was part of the RCB team that lost the final against CSK in the 2011 edition and against SRH in the 2016 season. Gayle featured in only these two IPL finals in his career.
AB de Villiers- Lost 2 out of 2

Like Gayle, AB de Villiers was also part of the RCB when they lost the finals against CSK and SRH in 2011 and 2016, respectively. De Villiers did not play any other final in the Indian Premier League.
Sai Sudharsan- Lost 2 out of 2

Sai Sudharsan was part of the Gujarat Titans team that reached the final in 2023 and 2026. However, GT lost the final in both editions and ended as runners-up.
Prasidh Krishna- Lost 2 out of 2

Prasidh Krishna has featured in two IPL finals with two different teams. In 2022, he played for RR in the summit clash against GT. He also played in the IPL 2026 final for GT against RCB.
Washington Sundar- Lost 2 out of 2
Washington Sundar has played in two finals in the IPL, finishing as runners-up in both of them. He played for Rising Pune Supergiants in the 2017 edition, where they lost the final against MI. He also played for GT in the IPL 2026 final against RCB.
Kagiso Rabada- Lost 2 out of 2

Pacer Kagiso Rabada played his first final in the IPL in 2020 for Delhi Capitals. However, they lost to Mumbai Indians. Later, he also represented runners-up GT in IPL 2026 final against RCB.
Jos Buttler- Lost 2 out of 2

Jos Buttler was part of the Sanju Samson-led RR team that lost the IPL 2022 final against Gujarat Titans. Later, he played for runners-up GT in the 2026 final.
Rahul Tripathi- Lost 3 out of 3
Rahul Tripathi has the unwanted record for playing three IPL finals with three different teams but losing all of them. He was part of RPS in the 2017 final, KKR in the 2021 final, and SRH in the 2024 final. His teams finished as runners-up in all these seasons.
Mohit Sharma- Lost 3 out of 3
Seamer Mohit Sharma has also made three appearances in IPL finals but has lost on every occasion. In 2013 and 2015, he was part of the CSK team that lost the finals against MI. In the 2023 edition, he was part of the runners-up GT in the final against CSK.
Yuzvendra Chahal- Lost 3 out of 3

Yuzvendra Chahal is another bowler who has a disappointing record in IPL finals. The leg-spinner played his first final with RCB in the 2016 edition and ended as runners-up. He also played for RR and PBKS in 2022 and 2025 finals respectively, but faced defeats in both clashes.
