Day 7 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has ended, and it was another action-packed day of cricket. It started with one of the biggest upsets in T20 World Cup history when Zimbabwe beat the 2021 champions, Australia, by 23 runs at R. Premadasa Stadium.

Zimbabwe batted first and scored 169/2, with Brian Bennett scoring 64* off 56. Australia failed to adapt to the situation and were bowled out for just 146 runs. Blessing Muzarabani (4/17) and Brad Evans (3/23) were stars with the ball.

The second game of the day was played between Canada and the UAE, and it was a close-fought contest. The result came in the last over of the game, where UAE edged past Canada by five wickets while chasing 151 runs.
Junaid Siddique recorded one of the best figures of 5/35 in T20 World Cup history. The final game of the day was played between two Group A teams, the USA and the Netherlands, in Chennai.
After two consecutive defeats, the USA managed to win a game. Saiteja Mukkamalla’s 79 off 51 balls helped the USA reach a big total of 196/6. With the ball, the USA were brilliant as they bowled the Netherlands out for 103 runs, beating them by 93 runs to record their first win in the ongoing tournament.

In match 21, the Netherlands and the USA faced each other in Group A. With a win, the USA moved to third spot with two points.
