[Watch] Prasidh Krishna uproots Quinton de Kock's stumps with an absolute peach of a delivery in the Vizag ODI

Prasidh Krishna picked up four wickets against South Africa in the third ODI.

Prasidh Krishna, after bowling expensive spells in Ranchi and Raipur, turned up in the series decider with a 4-fer that helped India restrict South Africa to 270 in the first innings. India won the toss in Vizag after 20 ODIs. The last time India won the toss in ODIs was in November 2023 against New Zealand in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup.

India and South Africa arrived at Visakhapatnam after winning a match each in the three-match series. Winning the toss was crucial for India as they struggled in the first two ODIs to bowl in the second innings, with dew having an impact.

Prasidh Krishna raises the temperature in Vizag

The highlight of Prasidh Krishna’s bowling spell in Visakhapatnam was the dismissal of the centurion Quinton de Kock. The left-hander had completed his century in just 80 balls and was looking to accelerate after achieving the milestone.

However, the fast bowler had something else in the store. He pitched up the ball in the block hole to surprise de Kock who attempted a cross batted shot. The left-hander completely had no clue as Krishna castled the stumps to end his knock. The pacer ended his spell with four wickets.

India to chase 271 in the series decider

The Indian team did a phenomenal job with the ball to restrict South Africa to 270 runs in the first innings. The Proteas were in a comfortable position after a 113-run stand between Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma.

Dismissal of the South African skipper brought India back to the game as they kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Kuldeep Yadav also registered four wickets to play an important role in South Africa’s collapse.
