Watch: Ravindra Jadeja dismisses Devdutt Padikkal & Sanju Samson in the same over vs RR

Ravindra Jadeja finished with figures of 2/21 in his four overs against RR.
Ravindra Jadeja was in prime form with the ball as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clashed with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 17th match of the IPL 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 12, 2023, as he removed Devdutt Padikkal and opposition captain Sanju Samson in the same over.
Chennai stadium was dressed in yellow, especially as it was the 200th time MS Dhoni was leading the CSK side in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He became the first captain to lead a single side in the IPL 200 times with Rohit Sharma (146 for MI) and Virat Kohli (140 for RCB) following him.
He also started well in the toss department, calling correctly and deciding to bowl first. CSK made two changes as Dwaine Pretorius and Mitchell Santner went out and Maheesh Theekshana and Akash Singh came in.
For Rajasthan Royals, Riyan Parag made way for Kuldeep Sen and Trent Boult missed out due to a niggle.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has been in sublime form, hit two boundaries looking in good form, before getting out as he tried to heave a length ball on off stump down the leg side and was caught by Shivam Dube off Tushar Deshpande.
Then Devdutt Padikkal and Jos Buttler accelerated nicely and took the attack to CSK bowlers with some help from fielders as well as Padikkal was dropped by Moeen Ali in slips. He was looking good, having scored 38 runs in 26 balls with five fours.
However, in the 9th over, Jadeja bowled a fullish delivery outside off-stump and in an attempt to slog sweep the ball, Padikkal only managed a top-edge which was caught by Devon Conway. Then two balls later, Sanju Samson received a beauty of a delivery which castled him for a duck.
Jadeja bowled it on a length around off and middle and got it to straighten just enough. Samson played for the spin and the ball barely missed the bat and hit the off-stump.
