Ravindra Jadeja won Player of the Match award for his 3/18 against KKR.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the star of his team’s 7-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday night in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Jadeja was named the Player of the Match for his 3/18 and two amazing catches.

Sunil Narine (27) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (24) got KKR off to a flying start, scoring 56 runs in six overs. However, CSK tightened the knot on KKR’s batting once they were out.

Shreyas Iyer (34) did his best, but CSK’s bowling held KKR to 137/9 in 20 overs. Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja each claimed three wickets, with Mustafizur Rahman picking up two.

In response, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 67* with 9 fours, and CSK won by 7 wickets in 17.4 overs thanks to contributions from Daryl Mitchell (25) and Shivam Dube (28).

Ravindra Jadeja teases CSK fans who waited for MS Dhoni to come out to bat

CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja surprised spectators at the MA Chidambaram Stadium by stepping out to bat ahead of audience favorite MS Dhoni in their match against KKR. Jadeja went out of the CSK dugout to troll Dhoni’s followers before withdrawing and letting the former captain bat.

In a popular video, Jadeja can be seen heading out to bat, all geared up with his bat in hand, following Shivam Dube’s dismissal. However, after a few steps, the veteran all-rounder retreated, allowing Dhoni to come out to bat in front of a cheering Chepauk Stadium crowd.

Dhoni soon walked out to a loud cheer from the Chepauk crowd with Chennai requiring three runs to win. This was the first time the former CSK captain batted at his most cherished venue in almost a year.
