Watch: Rinku Singh apologizes after breaking the media box glass with his six

Rinku Singh scored 68 runs in 39 balls with 9 fours and 2 six.
India’s new-age star has grown in stature after a magnificent show with his bat for team India against South Africa in the second T20I game played at St. George’s Park in Gqeberha. Left-hander Rinku Singh scored his maiden half-century in T20I format and he is averaging 82 in seven T20I innings he has played so far. Rinku’s positive approach has provided India with an outstanding option in the middle-order as well as a finisher which they have been looking for from a long time.
Rinku Singh scored 68 runs in 39 balls which included 9 fours and 2 sixes. Rinku used the gaps wisely against Proteas in the second T20I and played few magnificent shots. He also smacked two big sixes in his innings and one shot broke the glass of the media box window. Former South African pacer Dale Steyn took a sarcastic dig and said Rinku Singh’s shot has proved a little costly and someone at the eastern bay of Gqerbeha will not be happy after the big shot.
Rinku Singh’s apology
Indian batter also apologized for his big shot that broke the glass of the media box window. Rinku Singh said, “I hit a six, I didn’t know that it broke the glass, it’s just you who told me that one of my shots broke the glass of a window. I am sorry for that.” Rinku Singh smashed a brilliant down-the-ground shot against South African skipper Aiden Markram in the last ball of the 19th over. Rinku smashed it straight over Markram’s head for a huge six.
Rinku Singh has been dismissed only thrice in his seven T20I innings. Rinku also was great for India in the recently concluded 5-match series against Australia. He played a crucial role for India in the first two T20I games in Vishakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram. He remained unbeaten and scored 22 and 31 respectively. Rinku scored 46 at Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Raipur. He has scored 248 runs in seven innings at an average of 82.66 and a strike rate of 183.70.
Team India lost both their openers early in the innings as Yashasvi Jaiswal (0) and Shubman Gill (0) both were dismissed in the first two overs. Rinku held two great partnerships in the innings and took India above par. Rinku added 70 with Suryakumar Yadav and 38 with Ravindra Jadeja. India posted 180 on the board but rain curtailed the game, and the revised total for South Africa was 152 runs in 15 overs. South Africa won the game by 5 wickets and took a 1-0 lead.
