The year 2023 was a magnificent one for a few players who made their names with great performances. With so many teams entering into transition period, this calendar year was special one for youngsters willing to earn huge applauds with their skillsets. Many teams have managed to get a few new age star who will be expected to do better in the upcoming years.
From Rachin Ravindra to Rinku Singh most of the youngsters have earned big prizes for their good work. Rachin was a significant contributor to the New Zealand’s campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Rinku Singh emerged as one of the bright looking finisher for India in T20I cricket. Here are the top 5 emerging players based on their performance in 2023, let’s have a look at them.
5. Harry Brook (England) :
England’s middle-order batsman made his debut late in the previous year but he came shining in the calendar year 2023. Harry Brook had a terrific year of 2023 showing a lot of promise for the future and probably England’s new age star in the tests. So far his career, Brook has so far scored 1181 runs in 12 test matches for England. He also had a wonderful Ashes series in July-August against Australia.
4. Rinku Singh (India) :
With just handful of matches under his belt, Rinku Singh has already became a superstar for Indian cricket. His magnificent average of 65.50 in T20I format has earned him a great reputation in international cricket. He also made his ODI debut later this year against South Africa and played one crucial 38 runs knock at Boland Park in Paarl. Rinku will be the player to watch out for in the upcoming year.
3. Gerald Coetzee (South Africa) :
South African pace bowler Gerald Coetzee had an impactful debut year of 2023 for South Africa. The 23-year old pace bowler Gerald Coetzee made his debut in all three formats this year and picked up 46 international wickets. Coetzee also helped South Africa qualify for the semi-finals in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and had a terrific first ever mega event. Coetzee will be expected to do better next year.
2. Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh) :
Bangladesh top-order batter made his international debut 6 years ago but he finally had an impactful year for his national side in the 2023. Najmul Hossain Shanto has also earned the leadership of his side in absence of Shakib Al Hasan. Najmul Hossain Shanto smashed 5 international centuries in 2023 calendar year and will be expected to grow his stature bigger in the next year.
1. Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand) :
The young Kiwi-all-rounder Rachin Ravindra had a major role in New Zealand’s World Cup 2023 success. Kiwis put up a strong challenge against hosts India in the semi-finals played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rachin Ravindra has played 3 tests, 25 ODIs, and 18 T20I games for New Zealand and had an impactful performance for his side across formats.
