[Watch] Rohit Paudel and Tanzim Hasan Sakib engage in heated war of words during BAN vs NEP at ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel gestured for Bangladesh’s Tanzim Hasan Sakib to go back to his bowling mark.

Rohit Paudel and Tanzim Hasan Sakib had a fiery verbal battle during the BAN vs NEP match at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on Sunday night in St Vincent. For their last group stage match, Nepal met Bangladesh at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, where Bangladesh won by 21 runs while defending 106 and sealed their spot in the Super 8 round of the tournament.

Pacer Tanzim Hasan starred with sensational bowling figures of 4-2-7-4, which included the wicket of the opposition’s captain. Before dismissing Paudel, Sakib and the Nepal skipper had had a go at each other after the speedster gave a stare to Paudel.

Things got heated between the duo, culminating in Paudel angrily signalling Sakib to go back to his bowling mark. There have been no verbal jousts in the tournament so far. So this little bit of spice between Paudel and Sakib gave entertainment to the fans.

Sakib was breathing fire with the ball as his second over was a double-wicket maiden. After sending down the last ball of the over to Paudel, which the Nepal captain defended cautiously, Sakib gave a stare to the batter. Paudel wasn’t going to hold himself back and charged towards the pacer.

The engagement between them got tensed once Sakib too walked towards the batter and hurled a few words. This fired up Paudel further who then almost jammed himself into the bowler.

Fortunately, before it could get worse for both of them, Paudel’s batting partner Aasif Sheikh intervened between the two players and tried to move his skipper away. This didn’t stop the Nepal captain from furiously gesturing for Sakib to go back to his bowling mark.

Sakib had the last laugh over Paudel as he dismissed the Nepal captain in his next over.
