Rohit Sharma is gearing up for the upcoming ODI series against Australia.
Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma came up with a heart-warming gesture for a young fan during his net session at Mumbai’s iconic Shivaji Park on Friday, October 10. The right-handed batsman scolded a security personnel who stopped a young boy from meeting him with the video of the moment going viral on social media.
The 38-year-old is gearing up for the upcoming ODI series between Indian Cricket Team and Australian Cricket Team Down Under. Rohit is all set to make a comeback to the national team along with Virat Kohli after a long gap, having last played for India in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final in March.
Rohit Sharma, who was recently replaced by Shubman Gill as the ODI captain, has been putting in hard yards to prepare for the Australia series. He recently passed the fitness assessment test at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, where he underwent training as well.

Rohit, since the last few days has been training in Mumbai, and during his recent practice session at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, a young fan tried to sneak past the security to meet his idol. As the security official tried to stop him, Rohit intervened by yelling at him.
The crowd present at the venue applauded Rohit’s kind gesture and cheered for him. Later, he also clicked a photo with his fan and gave him his autograph. The video of the moment went viral on the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter).
The right-handed batsman entertained fans with some vintage shots during the session, and the chants of “Hitman” echoed at the venue. Former Indian batting coach Abhishek Nayar and players like Dhawal Kulkarni and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were present with him during the net session. Rohit’s wife Ritika Sejdeh was also spotted at the venue as the Indian batter trained for nearly two hours.
Rohit last played competitive cricket during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where he gave an impressive performance with the bat. At a strike rate of 149.28, the Mumbai Indians (MI) opener scored 418 runs across 15 games in the tournament, including four half-centuries.
Meanwhile, the three-match ODI series against Australia is scheduled to commence on October 19 with the opening game in Perth. The Indian players are expected to depart for Australia from New Delhi on October 15.
