Rohit Sharma scored 57 runs against England in the semi-final 2 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
It was a historic night for the Rohit Sharma-led India after they stormed into the grand finale of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating defending champions England in the semi-final 2 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 28. With this victory, the Men in Blue have taken their revenge of the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final, where they suffered a crushing defeat by 10 wickets against in the Adelaide oval.
After being asked to bat first on a slow Guyana surface, Indian skipper Rohit smashed crucial 57 runs in 39 deliveries, which included six boundaries and two sixes. Suryakumar Yadav added 47 runs with the bat. The duo stitched together 73 runs, which helped them reach 171/7 in 20 overs.
While defending 172, India spin duo Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav bagged three wickets each, whereas speedster Jasprit Bumrah picked up two wickets as the defending champions England were all-out for 103 runs.
The Rohit-led India won the one-sided second semi-final by 68 runs and reached the finale of the ongoing T20 World Cup in 2024. The Men in Blue will face undefeated Aiden Markram-led South Africa in Barbados on June 29.

After crushing defending champions England by 68 runs, Indian skipper Rohit, who was sitting in the dugout, was seen crying while other Indian players were congratulating each other.
Veteran batter Virat Kohli went to Rohit and tried to make him laugh as the duo shared some happy moments. After that, Kohli went into the dressing room and Rohit wiped his tears.
