Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are playing for Mumbai and Delhi respectively in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.

Indian Cricket Team batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had a staggering start to their Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 campaign on Wednesday, December 24, scoring centuries in their respective opening games. While Rohit is part of Mumbai in the tournament, Kohli is playing for Delhi.

Since the duo only represent the national side in ODIs, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asked them to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy to keep themselves in contention for selection in the 50-over format. They were part of the ODI series against South Africa earlier this month.

Both Rohit and Kohli rocked the field with their batting show in their first match for their domestic teams in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. Rohit hammered a 155-run knock against Sikkim at Sawai ManSingh Stadium in Jaipur, leading Mumbai to victory by eight wickets in the 237-run chase.

Kohli, playing against Andhra at BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru, scored 131 runs off 101 deliveries with 14 fours and three sixes. With his stunning ton, he helped Delhi chase down a 299-run target by four wickets.

How much Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are paid per game in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26?

According to the salary structure in Vijay Hazare Trophy, players are paid according to their List A experience. Players having experience of more than 40 List A games receive INR 60,000 per match, while those who have played 21-40 games receive INR 50,000. Players with 0-20 matches are paid INR 40,000, while reserves earn INR 10,000 per match.

Since, Rohit and Kohli have played more than 40 List A matches, they will earn INR 60,000 per match. Notably, both veteran batters will only play in the first few games of the domestic one-day tournament, as they are expected to play for India in the ODI series against New Zealand next month.
