Sanju Samson has joined CSK for INR 18 crores.

Indian Cricket Team batter Sanju Samson is now finally a Super King as he has officially joined Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction. He has been traded from Rajasthan Royals (RR) and will be joining the franchise for INR 18 crores.

Since the last few days, there were a lot of reports related to Sanju Samson’s move to CSK. After the end of IPL 2025, he expressed his desire to leave RR due to some issues with management and since then there have been talks related to his trade to some other franchise.

There were a lot of negotiations between CSK and RR and finally Sanju Samson was acquired by CSK for two of their superstars in Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. On Saturday, November 15, CSK confirmed the development which was first reported by Khel Now in June 2025.

The IPL governing council also released the official statement related to the trade and said:

“Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain and India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson will now represent Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at his existing league fee of INR 18 crore. One of the most experienced players in the league, Samson has played 177 IPL matches.

“CSK will be only the third franchise of his career. Since making his IPL debut in 2013, the senior pro has represented RR in all but two seasons—2016 and 2017—when he played for Delhi Capitals.”

“Senior All-rounder and former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ravindra Jadeja will represent Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the upcoming IPL season following a successful trade.”

“Jadeja, who played for CSK for 12 seasons, is among the most experienced players in the league, having played over 250 games. As part of the trade agreement, his league fee has been revised from INR 18 crore to INR 14 crore.”

Sam Curran will be there at RR for his existing league fee of INR 2.4 crore. He has featured in 64 IPL matches, and RR will be his third franchise, having previously represented Punjab Kings and CSK.
