Saurabh Netravalkar works from hotel after playing for USA at ICC T20 World Cup 2024, reveals his sister

Saurabh Netravalkar has picked up four wickets till now at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

The United States of America (USA) star pacer Saurabh Netravalkar’s sister Nidhi has opened up on her brother’s work-life balance amidst the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The 32-year-old Saurabh works for a reputated company, Oracle, and has been managing his work load during the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

The Mumbai-born pacer, who is now one of the top bowlers in United States cricket, captured the limelight when he dismissed modern-day chase master Virat Kohli and veteran batter Rohit Sharma during the USA vs IND clash on June 12 in New York in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

In three group stage matches till now, the left-arm pacer has scalped four wickets with an impressive economy of 5.20. Saurabh’s best figures so far is 2/18 in the global tournament.

The United States pacer helped his side register a famous victory over Babar Azam-led Pakistan in their second group stage fixture in New York. Netravalkar ended his four-over quota with 2/18 and also delivered a match-winning over in the Super Over.

In an interview with News18, Saurabh’s sister Nidhi revealed that his company Oracle has supported his brother so much. She further said that Saurabh takes his laptop everywhere to work during match days and his brother has the freedom to work from anywhere.

“He’s been very fortunate to have people who have always supported him throughout his career. He knows that when he’s not playing cricket, he has to give 100 per cent to the job. So right now, when he’s working, he carries his laptop everywhere. And he has the freedom to work from anywhere. Even when he comes to India, he brings his laptop. He’s working. So after the match in the hotel, he’s doing his work. He is pretty dedicated like that,” said Nidhi.

Saurabh’s sister Nidhi further opened that his brother always had two careers in mind and while playing cricket he also studied well and topped his class. His sister also reflected on his growing-up years in Mumbai, where Nidhi stressed the importance of influence on Saurabh’s work ethics.

The 32-year-old Indian-origin cricketer Saurabh has played for the India U-19 team in the 2010 World Cup and made his debut for Mumbai in the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy.

“This is something which is like that Mumbaikarness in him, which is always there, this whole hustle culture in us. You can’t just take it out. You know, like all of us, like since the beginning, when he used to travel to Churchgate for his training on the train, he was to do his homework. He played cricket but also studied well and topped his class. He’s always had two careers in my perspective,” added Nidhi.
