Shaheen Afridi played four games for Pakistan at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June.

Ace Pakistan speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi has landed himself in huge trouble following ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The speedster has been now accused of misbehaving with Pakistan coaches, according to reports.

The left-arm pacer has been under the scanner since the start of 2024. Shaheen faced huge blacklash from some of the former Pakistan cricketers when he missed the Sydney test against Australia earlier this year.

The 24-year-old Shaheen also captained the Men in Green in the five-match T20I against New Zealand, but suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of a second-string New Zealand side.

After this, Shaheen was removed from T20I captaincy ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and veteran batter Babar Azam took on the responsibility once again in the shortest format.

Shaheen Afridi had the opportunity to answer his critics during the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024. However, the left-arm pacer managed just five wickets in four outings.

Shaheen Afridi was accused of misbehaving with Pakistan coaches

After having a poor T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, Pakistan head coach Gary Kirsten and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood went to the Pakistan Cricket Board, where they made some shocking revelations regarding pacer Shaheen.

According to the latest reports in Pakistan Media, the white-ball coaches have revealed that some of the Men in Green players misbehaved with coaches during the recent T20 World Cup 2024 and the England T20I series tour before the marquee event.

The report further added that Men in Green white-ball coach Kirsten strongly criticized Shaheen, who misbehaved with the coaches. The report also added that the coaches have complained of lobbying among the Pakistan team as well.

Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq sacked from Pakistan selection committee

After Pakistan’s early exit from the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the axe has fallen on two of the selectors. Former Pakistan cricketers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were sacked from the selection committee on July 10. While Mohammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq and Bilal Afzal are still part of the committee.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that it has notified Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz that their services will no longer be required in the national selection committee setup. Abdul Razzaq was a member of the men’s and women’s selection committee, while Wahab was a member of the men’s selection committee,” the PCB said in a press release on Wednesday.

“The PCB will provide further updates on the selection committee’s composition in due course,” it added.
