It was rumoured that the BCCI was unhappy with the discipline of Shubman Gill.
India cricketer Shubman Gill has hilariously hit back at the fake rumours of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) being unhappy with the “attitude” and “discipline” of the youngster and hence he would be sent back home from the USA.
The opener uploaded an Insta story of a picture of himself with captain Rohit Sharma and Rohit’s daughter, Samaira, and wrote a funny caption on the story to troll back the fake news peddlers.
A few days ago, it was confirmed that Gill and fast bowler Avesh Khan, who are two of the four travelling reserves with the Indian squad in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024, will be sent back home after the completion of India’s group stage matches. This is because the Super 8 round and knockouts will be played in the West Indies, and India don’t need an additional opener and a fast bowler for those conditions as backups.
Some news outlets said that the Gujarat Titans skipper hadn’t shown the right “attitude” while in the USA, and the management is reportedly unhappy with him. It was reported that Gill kept “his focus on personal objects” and didn’t show much interest in training with the main squad players. That’s why, the report added, the BCCI is calling him back in the form of a “disciplinary” action.
“Learning the art of discipline from Rohit Sharma”: Shubman Gill
India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour already confirmed on Saturday that the decision to call back Gill and Avesh had already been made long ago.
Gill took to Instagram to troll back the fake news generators. He posted a picture of himself with Rohit and Samaira. He captioned it, “Sammy and I learning the art of discipline from @rohitsharma45”
