Matheesha Pathirana picked up five wickets in the T20I series.
The Sri Lanka cricket team have been hit with two huge blows in their fast bowling department as Dilshan Madushanka and Matheesha Pathirana have been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against India, which will start on August 2. All three ODIs will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Earlier, ahead of the IND vs SL T20I series, fast bowlers Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara were ruled out of both series.
Left-arm seamer Madushanka suffered a Grade 2 left hamstring injury during a fielding practice session ahead of the first ODI.
Right-arm speedster Pathirana has suffered a mild sprain on his right shoulder. The star pacer sustained a right shoulder injury while attempting to take a catch during the final T20I on July 30, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a media release.
“Matheesha has jarred his shoulder, and because it is the same issue that he had during the World Cup last year, they have chosen not to risk it,” team manager Mahinda Halangoda told ESPNcricinfo.
