"He bats on computer": Sourav Ganguly lauds Suryakumar Yadav's astonishing knock vs RCB

Suryakumar Yadav smashed 83 off 35 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mumbai.

On May 9, the Mumbai Wankhede Stadium hosted the 54th match of the IPL 2023 between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). With 10 points each, both teams entered this matchup.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, chose to field first after winning the toss. In this game, Chris Jordan made his MI debut. In the beginning, Anuj Rawat lost for 6 runs and Virat Kohli lost for 1.

After losing two early wickets, Bangalore's captain Faf Du Plessis (65), and opener Glenn Maxwell (68 in 33 balls) emerged as the team's saviors, putting together an incredible 120-run stand for the third wicket to bring Bangalore back into the game.

RCB's score increased from 136/2 to 146/5 thanks to the contributions of Rawat and Maxwell from Jason Behrendorff and Du Plessis from Cameron Green.

Dinesh Karthik walked up to the plate and batted well for his team, scoring 30 runs off of 18 deliveries to assist RCB reach 199 runs at the end of the 20 overs.

In reply, Rohit Sharma’s misery continued as he was out for 7 runs, but fellow opener Ishan Kishan hammered tha daylights out of RCB bowlers as he slammed 42 in 21 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes. But then the real lightning fell from the sky as Suryakumar Yadav entered the arena.

He flayed all RCB bowlers to every part of Wankhede for a 35-ball 83-run knock with 7 fours and 6 huge sixes.

This led to India legend Sourav Ganguly praising the mercurial batter on Twitter.
